Photoshop: Lesson 3

In this session, we recapped skills and techniques developed in the two previous Photoshop sessions, culminating in a 'Legally blonde' set render piece.

We experimented with the 'gradient' feature, particularly how the top boxes represent opacity and the bottom represent hue.

I also created a clipping mask for the floor gradient by holding alt and pressing between the layers. 'perspective' was used to create the floor shape.

We also used perspective warp for the building and shadows, before further experimenting with gradients and overlays for lighting.

One tip given was to use the 'select and mask' tool and its properties to edit the borders of images, so that elements such as the white desk do not have white pixellated border around them. The 'refine edge' tool helps to achieve this.
