Skills Passport: Introduction

An Overview

'The Skills Passport' module is a set of weekly classes involving CAD, Model Making, WIX, Workshop: Basic Skills and Google Sketchup. My Monday 'Skills Passport' sessions are optimal for allowing me a secure space to experiment and practice multiple techniques that will assist my design projects!

CAD

'CAD' involves software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. I am already proficient in both, though believe I will find Illustrator classes particularly useful as I use it far less in my concept practice!

Google SketchUp

Google SketchUp allows for the drafting and visualisation of ideas digitally, meaning that rough creations to scale can be shared and preserved for later consideration.

Model Making

Model Making will help me to conceptualise my design ideas both in scratch and measured scale model pieces, something vital to our current BBC3 project and further projects.

WIX

The WIX module will help me improve my existing portfolio, within this website itself. This involves making the viewing experience much more streamlined, as well as instructions on how to clearly present the different sections of my university coursework.

Workshop: Basic Skills

This class focuses on practical prop-work via wood, metal and sprays. Having little experience in this field means that I found the first session enriching and know that it will greatly improve my practical skills.
