Written work
I've worked on screenplays in group settings and for individual projects. Through the guidance of courses such as the BFI Screenwriting Academy I've become more excited to explore the creative avenue of writing-- visualising how my ideas can translate on paper is an important part of communicating them!
'Duomonologue' (2021)
This project was created during my time within the BFI Screenwriting Academy (July/August 2021). It represents someone having a conversation with themselves at a different point in their life, and I wanted to stress how priorities and mindset can unconsciously shift away from things we love if we don't nurture those parts of our lives.
'Italian Wedding' (2021)
This was the script I wrote with a group for the BFI Screenwriting course. It's a comedy that centres around the cultural differences between Italian and British upbringings, and was performed by professional actors at the BFI celebratory event. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience as it allowed me to experience the real cohesion of a writers room, and to leave my comfort zone and branch into satire!
'Shoreline' (2021)
This was the script I wrote for my A-Level film studies coursework in October 2021. Following my exploration of the psyche in 'Duomonologue', I opted for a psychological thriller approach to this work. 10 pages long, it explores themes of generational trauma, religious dogmatism, the duality of masculinity and the mystification of regular locations, in this instance, a lighthouse.
